Wallhogs.com: My New Project
After spending some time in Kansas working for my parent’s real estate company, I’ve moved on to my next project: Wallhogs.com. I found the co-founder of Wallhogs via his blog. I reached out and a few weeks later, it’s off to the races. Here is a brief description of what Wallhogs does, followed by the top ten reasons I am excited for this opportunity.
Wallhogs is a customization company. At out website, you can upload any photo that you want to see on your wall. You can also choose from our array of previously added images for custom wall graphics. This is where you can find images such as those of Gwen Stefani or Nine Inch Nails. Your selected image will then be printed out and mailed to you. How large do you want it? Wallhogs can be up to 7 ft by 5 ft.
Stop and think about that for a second. You can have a larger than life photo of ANYTHING you want on your walls.
There are a ton of photos on the web, but until now, it has not been easy to integrate these digital images with your art / decoration. These are truly perfect options for someone who moves often (college students), wants flexibility without long-term commitment (kids growing up), or someone with the creative eye to apply these in a way that I’ve not previously thought of.
One of the projects I would like to work on in the coming months is to have a netcast podcast where Wallhogs users can discuss different ways they are using their prints.
Here are my top ten reasons I am excited for this opportunity:
1.) Customization is King.
2.) Simple concept. My parents and my parents, parents understand this business idea.
3.) Quality product, Good Price
4.) Proven Team – The co-founders go way back and both are proven businessmen. Mark co-founded Take Two (nasdq: ttwo).
5.) Superstars! Did I mention we signed up Gwen Stefani and Nine Inch Nails?
6.) Partnerships: If you’re a photographer, sell your photos on Wallhogs! Everyone wins!
7.) Viral – Much like any good product, you just have the spark the fire…
8.) Personal Growth. I think I can learn a lot from this opportunity and from the founders and investors.
9.) Money. With good execution there is lots of upside
10.) I get to work with Amanda from Wallhogs TV!
I would appreciate your feedback on the site, the concept, and my blog. Leave a message! 😉
Also, we’ve been dugg! Please digg us if you have an account!
Kendall Anderson! I use to babysit you when you were a wee little boy. Google can find anyone.
Next time I’m in the market for larger than life prints of my photos, I’ll be sure to use your services.
Hi Joanna!
Thanks for stopping by! I’ve heard that you’ve had some nice success in the start-up world as well. Congrats! Thanks for reaching out! Pickup a Wallhog for Christmas!
